If it is necessary to update the Item's assets, because they have a new version, such as new photos of a product or a new version of a document registered in the DAM, it is possible to add a new version without having to create a new Item!
There are two ways to do this:
1. You can drag new assets into the item to be updated; or
2. You can manage your assets by adding or deleting items without taxonomy duplication.
1. Drag the assets into the item:
This action is super simple!
1st Step: Select the asset(s) from your local device;
2nd Step: Drag them into the item;
3rd Step: Wait for the item to be uploaded and updated. And that's it, new version of the item created!
Important: for the drag and drop action on the item there are some rules. Are they:
Dragging and dropping an asset into an item will create a new version of the item. No assets or items that already exist will be added.
Within 24 hours of creating an item version, when you insert new assets into this same item, the inserted assets will be added to the existing version. A new version will not be created.
If, after 24 hours of creation of the new version of the item, new assets are inserted, then a new version is created and the cycle is repeated.
This action is valid for items that already contain assets or for items in draft, which are empty and waiting for new assets to be inserted.
2. Create new version through manage your assets
1st Step - Upload the assets that will be updated in the item in the Bucket;
2nd Step - Access the item to be changed;
3rd Step - Click on Item Assets in the right side menu of the screen;
4th Step - Click on the Manage Assets button;
5th Step - On the toolbar, click on BLANK VERSION;
6th Step - Search and select the Bucket files you want;
Step 7 - Click the ADD button;
Step 8 - If you want, you can change the viewing order, add a Bookmark and leave a comment about the New version of the item.
Step 9 - Click Save.
You can find Item history under Item Versions.
