Category is the third and final level of the taxonomy hierarchy, typically used to represent the nature of a group of Digital Assets.
For example: Products, Logos, MPDV, Broadsides, Contracts etc.
To create a Category:
Step 1 - Go to the "Categories" tab in the Settings in the upper right corner of the screen;
Step 2 - Click on Add Category ;
Step 3 - Fill in the requested data including Category name, description, Metadata and taxonomy;
Step 4 - The other steps are optional:
Alternative name: type and search which alternative name will be linked to this category;
Image specification: type and search which image specification will be linked to this category;
Request tool: type and search which request tool will be linked to this category;
Gallery: activate the switch
so that items in this category are created in a 1:1 ratio, that is, each item can only have one asset. In this option, items are grouped automatically, therefore, it is not possible to Relate items.
Relate items: activate the switch if it is necessary to relate Items in this Category;
Open categories: activate the switch if you want to make the created category an open category, where the sharing links of the items of this type of category allow unlimited downloads within 24 hours.
Step 5 - Click Save and Yap! Your category is created.
NOTE: Even though the Category is the last level of the hierarchy, it is not necessarily linked to a Segment in the act of creation, it will be the Item that will make this connection.
