As time goes by, more and more digital assets are omnichannel, that is why it is necessary for every asset to correspond the needs and particularities of each channel, either via API or on the platform itself.
With that in mind, the manager user will be able to define the image format for distribution and/or download through the data and specification of image size, DPI, compression, extension, color mode, quality, etc.
How does it works:
1 - The Profile that has the "Platform" permission, now has a new page called Advanced Settings. Only profiles with this permission enabled can create or edit these specifications.
2 - On this page, for images there are a variety of parameters on the screen that need to be filled in, such as: dimension, extension, color pattern, quality, and DPI, etc.
3 - In the case of a PDF, 3D or Videos setting specification, they will be for CDN only.
4 - When creating a new specification, it must be enabled in the category in which it should appear. That way, the created specification will appear in the items of the selected category, allowing the asset, item, or mass download to be done with this new setting.
5 - When a specification is selected in the download, the asset/item will be prepared and the user will be notified when the folder is ready for download.
6 - If you need one of these formats (Images, Videos, PDF and 3D) to be distributed via CDN, please contact our support team via email help@yapoli.com
Pay attention to the rules:
1- If the defined specification is larger than the original image, we keep the original pattern, if it is smaller and with the same dimension, it resizes normally. For example, you have a 3000x3000 image and in the personalized setting the dimension is 4000x4000, in this case, you will download the original 3000x3000 image because the dimension is bigger. If we have an original 4000x4000 image and the specification is 300x300, we will resize it to the specification keeping the proportions;
2 - Image resizing:
2.1 - Proportionally: In the case of images and specification with different proportions, for example, the original image is rectangular and the specification is asking for a square image, we adopt the platform standard, which is resizing to the largest possible value in the height-to-width ratio ;
2.2 - Exact measurements: We will follow exactly as you enter in the width and height fields.In the case of images and specifications with different proportions, for example, the original image is rectangular and the specification is asking for a square image, we adopt the platform standard, which is resizing to the highest possible value in the height-to-width proportion;
3- Another rule we created is about the bulk download: if we select several items in categories with different specifications, the download of the items will only be possible with the shared specifications that are applied in the categories. Non-shared specifications will appear in grey.
4 - The transparency property is an exclusive property of the PNG extensions. If the original image is a transparent PNG and you are downloading a specification converted to JPG, the grid is applied to the background, since transparency is a property that does not exist for the JPG extension. But if the original image is a transparent PNG and you have a specification with conversion to PNG, then transparency will be applied if set in the image specification.
